DISPLAY AND ART HISTORY: THE DÜSSELDORF GALLERY AND ITS CATALOG

EXHIBITION DESIGNER

GETTY RESEARCH INSTITUTE

On view May 2011 – October 2011

This exhibition featured rare books and prints, and traced the development of a type of gallery display that emerged in the late 18th century in Düsseldorf. This new style of art presentation marked a transition in the history of the museum from the Baroque to the Enlightenment, and still echoes in exhibitions and catalogues that we see in museums today.
